Ecological study in 20 Latin American countries in and , which evaluated the relationship between the Age-Standardized Rates ASRs of incidence and mortality from oral cancer and the following indicators: HDI, with its components income, education, and health indexes ; and the Gini and Theil-L indexes. Oral cancer incidence and mortality rates vary both among and within Latin American countries according to sex, with a greater burden on men. Oral cancer OC affects the lips, oral mucosa, gums, palate, tongue, floor of the mouth, and the retromolar area ICD 2BB69 [ 1 ]. It is the fifth most frequent cancer among men in Brazil [ 6 ]; whereas men in Cuba present a higher mortality for this type of cancer in comparison with their peers in the United States and Canada, with a tendency to increase [ 7 ]. However, more relevance and social intervention have been given to other types of cancer that are less prevalent and in other population groups.
The three key dimensions are: 1. Here is the Our World in Data entry on life expectancy. Here are our entries on Literacy and the Global Rise of Education. The differences across the world are very large, ranging from the highest values in North America, Europe, Japan, and Oceania to the lowest in central Africa. As always on Our World in Data, you can add any other country to the chart. The first component of the HDI — a long and healthy life — is measured by life expectancy.
The Human Development Index HDI is a statistic composite index of life expectancy , education literacy rate, gross enrollment ratio at different levels and net attendance ratio , and per capita income indicators, which are used to rank countries into four tiers of human development. While the simple HDI remains useful, it stated that "the IHDI is the actual level of human development accounting for inequality , while the HDI can be viewed as an index of 'potential' human development or the maximum level of HDI that could be achieved if there were no inequality. The index is based on the human development approach, developed by Mahbub ul Haq , often framed in terms of whether people are able to "be" and "do" desirable things in life. Examples include — being: well fed, sheltered, healthy; doing: work, education, voting, participating in community life. The freedom of choice is central — someone choosing to be hungry as during a religious fast is quite different from someone who is hungry because they cannot afford to buy food, or because the country is in a famine.
Definition: The Human Development Index HDI is a statistical tool used to measure a country's overall achievement in its social and economic dimensions. The social and economic dimensions of a country are based on the health of people, their level of education attainment and their standard of living. Calculation of the index combines four major indicators: life expectancy for health, expected years of schooling, mean of years of schooling for education and Gross National Income per capita for standard of living. HDI is one of the best tools to keep track of the level of development of a country, as it combines all major social and economic indicators that are responsible for economic development. Service tax is a tax levied by the government on service providers on certain service transactions, but is actually borne by the customers. It is categorized under Indirect Tax and came into existence under the Finance Act, Description: In this case, the service provider pays the tax and recovers it from the customer.
After three consecutive decades of economic, educational and health advances, the world has taken a step backwards in because of the COVID pandemic. The Human Development Index could set back six years due to the coronavirus crisis. Among the serious consequences of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is one that does not directly affect any vital organ, but does affect the future of people: the decline in human development. This United Nations UN agency is made up of experts who help countries implement integrated and lasting solutions for the planet and its inhabitants. The UNDP addresses issues essential to the development of humanity such as the eradication of poverty, inequality or the impacts of climate change , which is why coronavirus has affected its aspirations, as reflected in the announced fall in the Human Development Index for the first time since its creation in Nevertheless, the UNDP has a plan to reverse the pandemic's effects. This includes, for example, reducing the digital divide , improving social protection, safeguarding health services and employment, implementing macroeconomic policies that benefit everyone, promoting ecological governance and other sustainable recovery measures within the UN Framework for the immediate socio-economic response to COVID
One of the more important determinants of the competitiveness of a nation is the quality of its human capital. It measures human development for all the countries of the world, through the use of three factors — longevity, knowledge and GDP measured in purchasing power. This paper evaluates HDI's contribution towards measuring the quality of the human capital component of a nation's competitiveness. Two primary issues under study are the HDI's information properties vis-a-vis its components and its measurement properties as an index. The primary conclusion of the study is that the HDI carries useful information about a country's current development, but not about the future level of development.
The link between age specific-rates of thyroid cancer TC and human development index HDI and also its components can be a new direction for planning by policy makers. This study aimed at identifying the relationship between TC rates by gender, and HDI and its components in different regions of the world. Inequality in TC estimates age-specific incidence and mortality rates , according to the HDI and its components was calculated. Concentration index CI was used to estimate inequality and CI was decomposed to determine contribution of HDI and its components in inequality. The inequality index CI was 0. The important contributors in inequality for incidence rates of TC were life expectancy at birth 0. The important contributors in inequality of mortality rates were mean years of schooling 0.
