I would rather go to any number of "Instagram Poets" profiles and find their undiluted words in all of their glorious entirety rather than spend any more money on RH Sin's unoriginal thoughts.
Let it bleed. Let it heal. And let it go. He wouldn't even walk through the rain. View 1 comment. Jan 11, Emerald Sue rated it it was amazing Shelves: poetry. And the writer himself often insists on that which is But I managed, somehow. What a waste of my time. Mar 18, Elisa The-Bookie-Monster rated it it was amazing. I adore this book so much. It was probably one of the most relatable things I've ever read, every poem just felt so real to me.
Nov 08, Kate rated it it was amazing Shelves: favorites , read , poetry. I think this is my favourite R. Sin book to date. Sep 06, Kristina rated it liked it. I honestly expected a bit more. There were some poems I really liked and resonated with my soul but my overall opinion is that I am not really impressed.

Before I get into the meat of this book, can I just say how awesome this cover is? If I were wandering through a bookstore on a "judging a book by its cover" binge, this would be the first book I would grab. Moving on, if you know me or follow any of my book blogging habits, you know that I'm a big fan of anything written in verse. Of course, I'm a fan of any kind of general reading material, but there's something about verse writing that hits my emotions harder.
I had the pleasure of stumbling a Before I get into the meat of this book, can I just say how awesome this cover is? I had the pleasure of stumbling across one of R. Sin's books at my library, and gobbled it up in one sitting. Whiskey Words and a Shovel III carries the same raw emotion as the previous installment, and is just as easy to binge read as the first.
I was also eager to find that this book was a hefty pages long, almost twice as long as the last book! The feelings I have for the verse are hard to put into words, really. It's very raw and real and personal, and it almost reminds me of talking to an old friend about life and love and everything that goes with it.
This kind of self-empowering yet kinda sad poetry just resonates with me. This is one of those books that has the ability to transport you with a poem, whether that's a good or a bad thing is hard to say.
It can be read as a standalone, and the verse is stunning enough to stick with you Seriously, I'm thinking about framing "therapy by the books". Definitely give this book a shot if you're looking for a new poetry read. View 2 comments. Jan 28, Holly Galligher rated it really liked it. I really enjoyed this book. I felt like I could relate to it.
It was really touching. I really liked how the author wrote as if he was talking to you, and he also wrote his own thoughts about a girl he was in love with, his wife, and how she has been hurt before but he was there for her to make her forget the hurting by actually loving her. He understands women emotions. He also tells you what you need to hear. I think girls that need a boost in self esteem should read this book.
Once you pick t I really enjoyed this book. Once you pick this book up you will not be able to put it down. It just speaks to you and anyone can really relate. The author just has an amazing way with words and an extraordinary way of thinking. I love it. May 20, Glitterbomb rated it did not like it Shelves: 1-star , poetry , reviews. I feel like this guy hasn't got an original bone in his body. Its like he's found this niche market and is now flogging it for all its worth. The guy's a broken record.
It comes across as incredibly lazy, self indulgent, and marginally creepy drivel. My skin was actually crawling quite a few times. Jun 05, Christina rated it it was amazing. I know that being a poet in the modern world is never easy. Everyone judges you. Your husband, your wife, your lover, your friends, your neighbours. Poetry books are sacred to me, I get to carry them around, fold their pages and read them over and over again. He is making poetry popular again, with his Instagram account and his simple, brilliant way of writing from his heart and sleeve.
The I know that being a poet in the modern world is never easy. There is nothing wrong with that. Most may criticize this, but I can easily read Dorothea Lasky in one sitting and r. Poetry in another and enjoy both books for different reasons.
Reading great poetry is an experience, an individual experience that varies from person to person according to their own life and knowledge. I can connect to poetry and its various forms and techniques.
